How to Start

What is the next step?

1. Complete the Volunteer Sign-up Form. Once the form is received, you will receive a volunteer packet and formal application in the mail. You may bring the application with you to the orientation.

2. All new volunteers must attend a one-hour orientation held at the Chapter House at123 North Alfred Street, Alexandria VA. Contact Joan Moser at 703-549-8300, ext. 88527, or MoserJ@usa.redcross.org for our volunteer orientation schedule.

What will be reviewed during the orientation:

A brief history of the American Red Cross
A summary of the Fundamental Principles
A summary of the Mission of the American Red Cross
A review of services
And a summary of volunteer opportunities

3. After attending the orientation session, the volunteer coordinator will interview you to find out your availability and your interests and make the appropriate referral to the department(s) of interest.
